The R-3S single grip compression set of retrievable packers is an ideal tool and common in wells with excessive and unexpected bottom-hole pressure. On most applications, operations primarily use them as a conventional long stroke production packer. The R-3S single grip mechanical production packer isolates the annulus from the production conduit.
Because of their simple design and straightforward running and retrieving procedures, the R-3 models are a popular and well-utilised piece around the world.
