Sentry Wireline Retrievable Subsurface Valve (WRSV)
The Sentry WRSV is a surface controlled wireline retrievable subsurface valve with ratings up to 10,000 psi (69 MPa) and 300°F (149°C). The Sentry WRSV utilizes a single-piston premium seal actuator and a self-equalising metal to metal flapper closure seal plus a secondary soft seat. The Sentry WRSV can be provided with a lock assembly to match the profile in the mating assembly. When assembled with a wireline lock it can be installed into either a safety valve nipple or in a locked out TRSV.
The Sentry WRSV is a fail safe, normally closed downhole valve that will protect personnel and property against uncontrolled flow in the event of a catastrophic surface event. The flapper is held open with control line pressure and will close when the pressure is released. The self-equalising flapper design allows for an easy return to production.
