Chemical Injection Nipple
The Giant Oil Tools Chemical Injection Nipple (CIN) provides the ability to deliver chemicals anywhere in the tubing string where pressure, temperature and tensile-load restrictions of conventional products may be prohibitive. The CIN consists of a one-piece, eccentrically machined body that provides full protection of an enclosed single or dual-check valve assembly. An optional Rupture Disk is available to provide for testing the capillary line during installation.
The CIN is available with an internal landing nipple profile and seal bore system if an isolation sleeve is to be used to shut off communication from the annulus to tubing ID.
The CIN is available in sizes from 2-7/8" through to 5-1/2" (73.0mm to 139.7mm) and pressure ratings up to 15,000 psi. They feature redundant, field-proven, corrosion-resistant check valves, (single or dual), rated up to 400°F (204°C). The check valves are manufactured from Elgiloy® and MP35N® corrosion-resistant alloys.
The CIN is made up as part of the tubing string. A stainless steel or Monel chemical injection capillary tube is run between the surface and chemical injection nipple. The check valves can be tested by applying pressure in the tubing and monitoring the pressure on the injection line. If a rupture disk has been installed it can be used to pressure test the capillary line.
